Göknur’s General Manager Osman Aslanali: ‘‘We will continue to grow in the global fruit and vegetable juice market’’
Göknur’s General Manager Osman Aslanali emphasized that the United Nations declared 2021 as the ‘‘International Year of Fruits and Vegetables’’ considering the positive effects of fruit and vegetables on health and the environment in his statement about the public offering application. ‘‘Göknur Gıda started out in 1993 in a small apartment and has grown into a company with a daily fruit and vegetable processing capacity of over 7,000 tons in its facilities in four different cities. We export our products to many countries around the world. The quality of our products and the service we provide to our customers as well as the wide range of organic products have continuously improved our share in the global market.
According to FAO data, the world’s fruit and vegetable production increased by more than 50 percent in the past two decades. Although production growth was twice that of the population, FAO data (1) indicates that fruit and vegetables are still well below recommended levels in the world. Göknur aims to increase consumption to adequate levels by making fruits and vegetables easier to reach.
Studies show that the carbon footprint of fruit agriculture is 50 times less than meat (2). These data show that the greater inclusion of fruit and vegetables or juices in our diet has a positive impact on human health as well as on the environment. Göknur attaches importance to organic agriculture and contributes to the protection of our agricultural areas. By converting the waste from factories into electricity in biogas plants, it minimizes the environmental impact of waste.
Over the course of its 30-year journey, Göknur has continuously improved its products and services and entered new markets. In addition to fruit and vegetable concentrate, the company has started producing fruit juice, producing electricity from biogas, cultivating fruit, and producing many fruits.
We will use the agricultural power of our country to grow further in world markets.
